| “Ian's photographs for our wedding are amazing. Ian also
took the wedding photographs for my sisters wedding and two
other close friends of mine and I would have no hestitation in
recommending him for your special day. As a family we have also
been to a family portrait sesson with him, which was great fun
and again he produced some fab pics, we definitely would use Ian
again for any further professional photographs in the future.” -

The following is a list of the most frequently asked
questions put to us by couples planning their wedding
photography. If you have question that is not answered
here, please contact us to discuss your own
requirements.
How long will you stay
at our wedding?
We can be available to start as early as you want us to
and stay until the evening reception is well underway.
We can spend time with both the bride and groom in the
morning for preparations, if this is what you’d like.
There are choices between, for example, we can start
just an hour before the ceremony begins and finish the
coverage when you sit down to eat. The choice is yours.
How many Photographs
will be taken?
There is no fixed number. We will shoot the day as it
happens and will take a picture wherever there is one to
be taken. The quantity depends upon many factors such as
the number of locations throughout the day, the weather
and the time between the ceremony and the wedding
breakfast.
As well as the informal
shots, we would like some more formal poses. Will you
take these?
We always meet with our clients before the day, so we
know exactly which ‘specific’ family group shots you may
like. If we can have a list of these, it helps on the
day. We do prefer to work in an informal and creative
way, and would suggest that these group shots are kept
to a minimum. We do work quickly and efficiently whilst
shooting any formal photographs, which should allow you
more time to enjoy your day.
Do we get to see all
the pictures?
We do edit out any inappropriate images (such as blinks,
duplicates and missed expressions). All of the images
are put onto CD or designed into your album proof. You
get to see all the images taken.
When and how can we
view our photographs?
Depending on which package you have chosen, the album
proof will be ready for you around 6 weeks after your
wedding. At this time, all the highlights from your day
will also be uploaded to our website, for friends and
family to view and purchase if they so wish.
We do not password protect our ‘real weddings’ unless
you specifically ask us to.
Do you offer Framed
Pictures?
Yes, we do have wide range of stylish and contemporary
frames, canvasses and acrylics, in a wide range of
sizes. Prices start from just £75.
If our album gets
damaged, can it be replaced?
We keep records of all our album plans and layouts, so
yes, a replacement could be obtained. We do recommend
that you insure your album through your home contents
policy.
What happens if I want
a reprint several years on?
All our files are archived and kept on file, in two
separate places. Just contact Storybook Weddings for a
copy.
When is it best to do
the pre-wedding shoot?
We would recommend this is done about a month or two
before the day. This takes place at our studio, and as
weekends are usually booked with weddings, we do offer
this during the week or evenings. During the pre-wedding
shoot, we will discuss all the finer points of your
wedding, such as timings and any specific shots you
would like.
What happens if it’s
bad weather or low light?
No need to worry, we are able to deal with most
situations that adverse weather or low light situations
may present. Our digital cameras are exceptional in low
light conditions. We generally prefer to work outdoors
with natural light and without flash if at all possible,
but we just as easily work indoors and use the
atmosphere that you have created within the venue to
capture and create beautiful images.
Who owns the copyright?
As with all professional photography, the copyright of
the images that we shoot belongs to us. It is an offence
to copy them in any way. Even a scan or inkjet copy is
an infringement of our copyright and as there are so
many ways of copying material, people are often unaware
that they are breaking the law. Should you want to own
the Master Files, we do give you the option of
purchasing the copyright, allowing you to make as many
prints as you like.
Are Storybook Weddings
Insured?
Yes, Storybook Weddings are covered by Public Liability
and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
What do you do about
eating on the day?
If we are there for most of the day, and into the
evening, we do ask that you organise with the venue to
provide us with either sandwiches or a meal. We often go
into the ‘bar’ area if available, but like to be nearby
to photograph the wedding breakfast. What ever is
easiest for the venue. We do not have any dietary
requirements.
Who pays for travel /
overnight accommodation expenses?
Depending on your package, we cover all expenses
throughout the Midlands. If we do require overnight
accommodation due to distance and times, we ask that you
pay for a “travel lodge’ or similar nearby. Any
additional mileage is always charged at cost.
How much time should we
allow for the drinks reception?
Based on our experience, our advice would be to have two
hours between the end of the ceremony and the start of
your wedding breakfast. (This does not include any
travelling time, if necessary). Depending on your
photographic requirements, you can spend as much or as
little of this time with us, to create your stunning
bride and groom images.
How do we go about
booking you?
We do recommend that you visit us at our studio, where
we have lots of samples out on view. This gets us all to
know each other before you commit. Please note, we only
shoot 40 weddings per year, for which we must receive
hundreds of enquiries. Unfortunately, we are not able to
hold, or ‘pencil in’ any date under any circumstances.
All the dates are booked a first come first served basis
and can only be secured with a completed booking form
and deposit of £250. Many clients have been known to
book our services 2 years or more in advance or to
change their wedding date to secure our services for
their wedding. |
